Chance Hymas Out for 2025 Season After ACL Injury

Honda HRC Progressive rider Chance Hymas will miss the rest of the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross season after tearing his right ACL during the second moto at High Point Raceway. The injury occurred while Hymas was running second, catching his foot in a corner. Despite the pain, he managed to finish the race in third and secure fourth overall.

Scans later confirmed a full ACL tear, along with a mild MCL sprain and a minor meniscus contusion. Hymas is set to undergo surgery on June 24 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. This marks his first injury to the right ACL; he has previously undergone two surgeries on his left.

“It’s gut-wrenching,” Hymas shared on Instagram. “But I’m staying positive. I’ve done this before, and it’s not going to stop me now.”

Currently third in the 250-class standings, Hymas was coming off a dominant 1-1 performance at Thunder Valley before the injury. He’s expected to return for the 2026 season.

“Chance was just beginning to show what he’s capable of, we’re confident he’ll come back stronger.” – Brandon Wilson of American Honda.
